Singing bowls have become a quintessential tool for our modern meditation practice. The singing bowl tradition originates in the Himalayan region. They have been used for thousands of years for spiritual practices, meditation and also for healing purposes.
Discover these old fashioned, hand hammered Thadobati Singing Bowls. I’ve personally selected each one while in Kathmandu for its rich and beautiful sound, for the vibrations that seem to go on and on.
Each bowl is a unique hand-made piece and rings with a different note. The notes correspond to the chakras. So if you are interested in using your singing bowl to work with a specific chakra you can choose a specific note. See below for the notes available.
If you're not sure about the chakras know that, whatever note you choose, each and every bowl will create beautiful energy vibrations and generate a deep musical tone that can help to bring balance to your body and mind, induce a state of quiet relaxation ideal for meditation, stimulate creative thinking and intuitive messages.
Hand made in Nepal
MEDIUM size is approximately 6" diametre (also comes in SMALL and LARGE)
Comes with the traditional wooden ringing stick and a ring cushion to rest your bowl on.
Hold the singing bowl on the flat palm of your left hand (if you are right handed, in your right if you are left handed).
Hold the ringing stick in your other hand like you are holding a pen.
Gently tap the stick against the side of the bowl to "warm-up" the bowl.
With an even pressure, rub the ringing stick clockwise around the outside edge of the rim of the bowl.Use a full arm movement (and not just a wrist movement), as if you were stirring a big bowl of cookie dough. Keep the ringing stick straight up and down.
It is the pressure you apply and the speed of the movement you make that creates the vibrations of the metal and allows the bowl to sing. The trick is to apply even pressure, but not too much. Experiment with this, and experiment with the speed. Build it up slowly, the bowl will sing louder as the vibrations grow.
