PLEASE NOTE: Natural rubber is latex - best not to choose a natural rubber yoga mat if you have a sensitivity to latex.

CARING FOR YOUR ECOYOGA MAT

Take good care of your mat and it will last you 2-10 years.
Natural rubber is sensitive to extreme heat and UV rays, so store it out of direct sunlight.
Avoid contact with essential oils to avoid staining and to prolong your mat’s life.
Keep your mat fresh and clean by regularly wiping it down with a damp cloth. We recommend you make a simple cleaning spray from water and 2-3 tablespoons of white household vinegar.
Avoid using commercial mat cleaners. They are not designed for natural rubber and may contain essential oils.
For a deeper clean, soak or shower-clean your mat then roll it into a towel to remove excess water. Hang it to dry.
You can also machine wash your mat with a drop of mild detergent in a delicate cold water, non spin cycle. Lay it flat to dry. DO NOT TUMBLE DRY. Best to machine wash infrequently, a couple of times a year for example, as extensive washing will dry out and loosen the jute plant fibres.

My all-time favorite mat

I've been practicing yoga for over 15 years and started using the Original Eco Yoga Mat about 6 years ago - it's my absolute favorite mat I've ever had! I recently moved and decided to finally purchase a second one - the structure of the mat was still in great condition, but after years of regular hot yoga practice, I decided it was time for a fresh start. I love how grippy it is while still providing a very cushioned and natural feel. No harsh chemical or plastic smells (just a slight rubbery odor that dissipates with use - as someone that is extremely sensitive to smells, I didn't find it bothersome). Very easy to clean and maintain. It feels good knowing I am practicing on a mat that not only supports the physical asanas, but also aligns to the values and principles of yoga. Highly recommend this mat to any and all yogis!
